2018年4月20日下午，Avicii逝世于阿曼首都马斯喀特，Avicii的亲人不愿透露死因，一度传出可能是他有酗酒习惯。在4月27日，Avicii的亲人证实Avicii的死因是自杀，Avicii自己将红酒瓶打破，用玻璃碎片自残，而致失血过多死亡。Avicii的亲人说:“我们心爱的提姆是一个寻求者，一个脆弱的艺术灵魂，正在寻找存在的意义。一位过度追求完美的人，导致他以一种高效率的方式努力完成工作，这样的生活步调为他带来极大的压力。当他停止巡回演出时，他希望找到生命中的平衡，保持开心并能够做他最喜爱的音乐。”其中也提到了Avicii在思考人生意义、生活和幸福的问题上遇到许多挣扎。他无法再继续下去了，他想找到平静。提姆不是为了成为商业生产机器所活着，他是一个敏锐的人，他热爱粉丝，但却不喜欢在镁光灯下。

当然，本次的 Avicii 演唱会并不只是纪念他……

Avicii 的父亲说，每年在瑞典有超过 1500 人因为心理问题自杀，而在全球这个数字则高达一百万。这种事情一旦发生不仅会影响到家庭、社区，还有他们的亲戚……根据世界卫生组织的统计，这是全球 15 – 29 岁年轻人中第二死亡的常见原因。

“我们希望这场演唱会能唤起众人对心理健康的重视，尤其是需要关心身边那些有精神疾病的人。当然，采取措施来发现并预防自杀也是很重要的，尤其在是年轻人间。”
